The Government should strike a free trade deal with Australia

Tony Abbott’s comments on free trade are featured in The Guardian

 

Tony Abbott, former Prime Minister of Australia, forwarded the latest Free Enterprise Group paper, Reconnecting with the Commonwealth, by James Cleverly MP and Tim Hewish. He called for a trade deal, free of tariffs and quotas, to be struck between the UK and Australia. The Brexit vote removes the UK from a protectionist block and presents countless new free trade opportunities, deals with Commonwealth countries is the obvious place to start.
