Too many people on low or middle incomes are feeling financially strained each month. Millions are struggling with living costs, yet often policymakers fail to identify the cause of rising bills. Calls for state intervention in various markets continue but would do little to help just-about-managing families. In a new Free Enterprise Group paper released today, Dominic Raab MP examines four markets which are lacking policies to promote competition and which continue to fail consumers – energy, broadband, mobile internet and retail banking. The report outlines several reforms to promote competition and push down costs to benefit consumers across the UK.
